Michael S. Butcher is Vice President of SB&O, Inc., a full service land surveying, civil engineering, and land planning firm. Mr. Butcher has 29 years surveying, mapping and construction staking experience in Southern California. He is currently in charge of construction staking, deformation surveys, GPS surveys, HDS laser scanning, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, and ALTA/Land Title and boundary surveys, including boundary analysis, calculations, legal descriptions, easement plats, right-of-way mapping, and Record of Survey maps associated with these surveys.
He also performs research of County and other municipal agency mapping records, and provides title company coordination. Mr. Butcher currently holds licenses in California, Arizona and Nevada. He has been actively involved in surveying with the California Land Surveyors Association, serving as Chapter Representative for the San Diego Chapter, three years as Professional Practice Committee Chairman, State Treasurer, Secretary, and 2000 President, and the Legislative Chairman of the association.
Mike served as the Committee Chairman (2006-2009) for the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Technical Advisory Committee. Other professional association affiliations include the Nevada Association of Land Surveyors, Arizona Professional Land Surveyors, International Right-of-Way Association, and the Building Industry Association. Mr. Butcher is currently a Committee Member for the Kearny Mesa Planning Group and the Scripps Ranch Planning Group.
